OMG this alpha finally is available!!! Ive been meaning to look at their updates in the past month and now i see its gone from complete rumor or release to actually released!!!! This is amazing!

It's a good feeling, for sure! I guess you stopped checking days before it was released. It is pretty fun, albeit challenging for computers to run, and mods are already on their way. It's pretty good value and have fun.

Haah yea the last posts i remember reading were the Twitch tv streams. And i ended up spending hours watching all of them. And it seems only a few days later it was released... grrr!!! but im happy!

How challenging? I purpose built my computer as a gaming rig, so im banking on being able to run a lot.

I havent read much more just now than the quick posts, but is there online play? or limited to solo play right now?

A gaming rig should be able to max the settings. Right now it's limited to solo play, which can get a bit lonely, but it is still fun and you'll be good once multiplayer comes around. There are 3 maps that are deserving of the name, but the testing place as seen in the demo is cool. I would recommend trying the demo if you are in doubt. Races, demolition derbies, maps, and cars are the future updates as far as I know.

In no way am i in doubt. These devs had my money a long time ago. They put something out, and now its reality. That's an achievement!

I totally expect it to be a work in progress too. But to be able to play it along the way and learn how it works all the way up to a more complete game is awesome. I wont even download the demo. Im just gonna buy it. But its too late to do that now haha, so tomorrow ill be on it.

Same here. The best marketing is showing the real product. We can play hipster when it takes off like I did when Minecraft became Lego RPG 4 KIDZ! Here's to hoping this gets as good as RoR was for the times!

hahaha yep. minecraft is what i played back before any kids were on it. Because the kids couldnt figure out how to run the silly game haha. Now i dont even touch that game. But it was worth the money.

I see lots of potential with this game. I really do. And it seems to have a promising user base/support, which is fantastic. A few good machinimas will get this thing into mainstream pretty quickly. And that will be a good thing, because it means more cash for the devs. And that means they will put more into the game!

Those will be hilarious! I stay away from Minecraft like the black death these days. It was once a medium for creativity and a way to meet cool people, but it quickly went downhill and sold out. It's laughable, now. It's true, the forbidden fruit tastes the sweetest (becausethose DAMNED BRATS WITH MACBOOKS are never involved AGGGGGGGGH).

Grrr, not gonna get a chance to get it downloaded tonight. But tomorrow for sure. I suppose youtube videos will suffice for now....

More and more though, i stop admitting to people i played minecraft. Like you pointed to, there is a new stigma to it now. One id rather not be associated with.

When they get the online going on this game hit me up and we should play. Im guessing steam will run around this game, if so, my steam name is the same as my oppo one. at least it still should be.

Damn kinja, sending me notifications late. I, too, admit to having plaid minecraft in public less and less frequently. I'd say it's earned the stigma, as gameplay has become contrived. I see that you got the game, but I have to hold off on watching the video for a bit. Glad you like it!
